Running of the Bulls II

Warm Up Games

OBJECTIVE
Today we are playing Running of the Bulls II. In this game, the objective is to avoid being tagged by the running bulls.

INSTRUCTIONS

• I will select three matadors and three bulls (taggers).  
• Matadors will hold green flags and the bulls will wear blue flags.
• Before the game begins, spread out into the field.
• When I say, “GO!” bulls will try and tag the matadors.
• Matadors have 10 seconds to pass their flags to another student. Matadors cannot throw flags.
• Matadors can only have one flag at a time.
• If a bull tags a matador, they must switch roles.
• The bull must be wearing the blue flag before tagging anyone.

 TEACHING TIPS

• Approach:
  • Play only on half of the field.
  • Depending on class size, increase the number of matadors or bulls.
  • If students are not passing the flags to different people, have a ‘no pass back’ rule.
